Charles Ramsey Eats…

I got a new hero. After that nightmarish story coming out of Cleveland (where Charles Ramsey essentially helped save Amanda Berry and then Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus) he talked about McDonald’s and eating ribs with Ariel Castro:

“I heard screaming,” Charles Ramsey told WEWS-TV of Monday’s dramatic rescue. “I’m eating my McDonald’s, I come outside and I see this girl going nuts trying to get out. I go on the porch and she said, ‘Help me get out. I’ve been here a long time.’ I figure it was domestic violence dispute. She comes out with a little girl and says, ‘Call 911, my name is Amanda Berry.’”

“I barbecue with this dude,” Ramsey said (of Ariel Castro.) “We eat ribs and listen to salsa music.”

McDonald’s, ribs, and salsa. What a story. . . McDonald’s later tweeted: Way to go Charles Ramsey—we’ll be in touch. (And now he has free burgers for life!])

Worst City for a Small Business

Thumbtack.com and the Kauffman Foundation interviewed 6,000 small business owners in 40 cities across the United States. And surprise, surprise, the lovely Golden State (California) has three cities at the bottom of the list. Including this one, which was dead last:

Sacramento is the least business friendly city in the country

San Antonio, Texas was the top-rated city to do business in. There is something in San Anton, something that I keep forgetting, an attraction that draws the tourists in. Hmmm. I even heard a little mnemonic device to help me recall it. Ummm, remember the McDonald’s? No. Remember the Enterprise Car Rental place? No. . .  I give up.

Top 10 Worst Uniforms

Over at AOL Jobs, they are highlighting the worst work uniforms. No surprise on the predicable choices, such as the distinctive postal worker jungle-shorts:

Obviously, jobs that enjoy a great uniform are not included. Such as the killer-whale handler at SeaWorld. Or the McDonald’s drive-through guy, dressed in Marine Corps Red and Yellow. (Welcome to McDonald’s, can I take your order?) One more uniform that should probably make the cool list:
