There is another Diego, not called San Diego, that serves as a military base. Diego Garcia usually stays out of the news, but this B-2 buzzing the beach put DG back into the news cycle:

Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine Bremerton maneuvers alongside submarine tender Emory S. Land in Subic Bay, Philippines, on Dec. 29. Bremerton, homeported in Pearl Harbor, is on a western Pacific deployment, while Land is homeported in Diego Garcia and undergoing repairs in the Philippines while conducting coordinated tending moorings and afloat maintenance in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
