The parents of a New York 15-year-old swept out to sea in Hawaii last week have slammed the tour company for failing to keep the boy safe.
Michael Madoff hit out at Colorado-based Bold Earth Teen Adventures saying it showed “poor judgment and extremely poor character” in its handling of Tyler Madoff’s accident.
Hawaii officials also said Pack and Paddle, which had two guides on the fatal hike with Bold Earth Teen Adventures leaders, had a permit to take kayaks to Kealakekua Bay, but it did not extend to a tidal pool area where the tragedy happened.
It is tough enough living with that last name, much less getting lost at sea. God bless the kid. Although it is unlikely, I hope he manages to return safely. . .
