Although I never had a Navy wife, I do understand the sentiment behind the story.
Such wives and family’s are the back bone of the Armed Forces, they act as an unpaid safety cushion in the way that a professional counsellor could not. Every Government should applaud the stirling support that these people give, even though they would never wish it so.
An act of kindness such as this ‘night out’ is recognition and is greatly appreciated by all those serving who have come to understand that they are ‘all’ appreciated.
