Some while back I watched a program on the National Geographic channel about life on board a US Carrier. Hats off to the crews operating on the flight decks, in comparison it makes the bank holiday Paris rush hour look normal.
The ‘Air Boss’ on each carrier must have nerves of steel? His duty watch time must surely just fly by (no pun intended).

That is a great program. If it is the same one I am thinking of, it was filmed aboard the Nimitz in 2005-2006, I think. I’ve spent hours (in little five minute increments) just watching flight ops. It is a fun break. . .

That was a good Nat Geo program. The Air Officer on a carrier is normally an O5 Commander and he is called the “Air Boss”.
