The problem with being too busy to read is that you learn by experience… ie: the hard way. By reading, you learn through other’s experiences, generally a better way to do business, especially in our line of work, where the consequences of incompetence are so final for young men. Thanks to my reading, I’ve never been caught flatfooted by any situation…It doesn’t give me all the answers, but it lights what is so often a dark path ahead.

With the ruling that women can now fight on the front lines (which is were by the way) and there is all this uproar on men and women serving together because someone might see someone else pee, why not make a brigade of all women? I can thing of nothing more dangerous than sending out a platoon of PMSing women.
How complimentary of you CP….there are a lot of reasons this won’t be considered advantageous in the long run; does the American military and women in general want to see our female troopers captured in battle by Islamic terrorists ? Rape is the least of anticipated problems…sawing someone’s head off after all will occur whether it’s a man or a woman…I think this is a ploy by Leon Panetta and proves once again what a political hack he really is…these eight years will be pure and singular hell for all of us…and the bottom line is Obama is intent on dismantling the American military…I don’t believe there will be any American military who will fire on this country’s citizens…I honestly don’t believe that…but Obama is somehow misinformed in this regard…and that is my belief….I could be wrong, but I don’t think so….k
The Army trained us in grunt school at Ft Polk to stay above the water so we could get air.
The underwater training looks kind of fun to me, but I’ve done it before. Water survival school is keeps you on your toes. Especially the dunker.
The Senate Armed Services Committee seems to be a little perturbed that Panetta would release this to the press, before them. They make the rules, not Leon.
They seem to feel that he did this, at the bidding of his master, to get the public opinion rolling before they could rule on it.
