Ahmed Dogan, of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), escaped an assassination attempt. A gunman jumped on stage and point-blank aimed at him:

An unidentified man (R) attacks Ahmed Dogan, leader of Bulgaria’s Movement for Rights and Freedom (MRF) party, as he delivers his speech during his party’s annual conference at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.
His gun jammed.
I watched it on you tube earlier.
Ahmed Dogan initially saved him self as the ‘assassin’ pointed and pulled the trigger on an empty chamber; when the bad guy fumbled and attempted to cock and fire the weapon again; Ahmed Dogan pushed and swept him away (falling sideways as he did it).
(Obviously the ‘assassin’ had an attack of the vapours (nerves) prior to climbing on stage. Pre-Planning, Preparation, Prevents, Piss, Poor, Performance!
Ahmed Dogan’s ‘Close Protection’ intervened (having rushed in from afar) and wrestled the bad guy down; where upon a thoroughly good kicking ensued for some time.
Message to the CP team… The clue to your role is in the abbreviated term, it means ‘CLOSE’ Protection; not Close ‘to the bar’ Protection.
Yours Aye.
I hate it when that happens.
It’s like watching the Keystone Kops Comedy of Errors….nothing like Sirhan Sirhan and RFK is it??…k
Yeesh! And I thought some of my speeches went over poorly.
EB: Not “Close to the Bar” protection! Love it. Some onion-breathed dudes are gonna be losing their jobs tonight.
CP: Click click, no boom!
Kris: Keystone Cops is a good comparison.
Six: Haha! If folks are laughing, you are doing fine.
The video is pretty intense
