A Wild Cristina Kirchner

Cristina Kirchner, the President of Argentina, seems wildly determined to dance the international tango with UK over Islas Malvinas, better known as the Falklands Islands. (Do her failed policies need a war to wag?)

Particularly apt of the Falklands War is this time capsule of the period, the frigate HMS Plymouth:

There is no better source (in my amateur eyes) of things Falkland than this link on the Naval War in the Falklands

As for our girl Cristina’s political party, Front for Victory:

The FPV is part of what it calls an “intolerable” gap between rich and poor and questions the role of political parties allied to the regime in Argentina (2001 crisis). For that reason sustain “the vital need to deepen the process of social justice, leaving behind a past that most Argentine want to overcome, allowing the construction of a new space political and institutional management in Argentina.” constituting the axis for “a foundational process of politics and institutions.”

Ah social justice, roger! Still this chart lists Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s wealth at nearly $100 million. I’m no accountant, but ‘dat is a lot o’ Churrasco.

  1. I don’t know for sure, but, unless that is a camouflage design, the Plymouth could use a dab of paint here and there. Mostly there and there and there and there and….

  2. Sadly she is tied up alongside in the historical ‘Vittoria Dock’, Birkenhead, which is on the Wirral Peninsula (across the River Mersey, from the City of Liverpool). Hidden from view, almost shamefully.

HMS Plymouth Association could not afford the funding for restoration, and sadly it shows throughout. Had she been tied up alongside in Devonport ‘Royal Dockyard’ that houses the bulk of active commissioned RN warships, she may have stood a chance of survival.

Yesterdays fighting ship; tomorrows razor blades…

    Onwards and upwards…

    Yours Aye.

  3. And this is the Argentina of Juan and Eva Peron,…I was just watching the Madonna vehicle, Evita about a week ago and noted the similarities between Obama and the Perons…identity politics and sad to say, Argentina is still suffering the effects of these two self-appointed narcissists fifty years after the fact…sad and pathetic…Cristina Kirchner is a perfect disciple of those two thinking she can redo the Falklands with a better outcome for her country…now that is sad…. .k
