Samantha Dunn’s new body armor — designed for female soldiers with smaller statures — Wednesday at Fort Stewart, Ga. The soldiers with the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team will soon deploy to Afghanistan as a female engagement team and become only the second Army unit to wear the body armor called the Female Improved Outer Tactical Vest.

Oh my. This lends itself to so many comments that I’m sure would be deemed inappropriate. Like “I’m glad to see the military keeping abreast of new developments in body armor.”

Why do cooks and secretaries need vest? To help keep the CO’s hands off their tatas?

The officers doing something for the Sergeant. What is the world coming to?
