Steve McQueen and His Friend, the Revolver

I do not pay lip service to garbage art. And likewise, I like to display art that requires talent to make. James Mylne drew this great picture (of Steve McQueen) using a ballpoint pen, called Biro artwork:

James Mylne’s exhibition is called ‘Vintage Vogue’ and it will be staged at Rook & Raven Gallery, London, until the 30th of October. If you are an art fan, you might want to read Camille Paglia’s thoughts on the current art scene.

  1. There is a small town north of Atlanta called Cartersville and is the home of the Booth Western Museum. In there is a picture of a young woman in western ranch attire that looks like a black and white photograph but is, instead, done with a pencil. Amazing!

  2. CP: I always enjoy pencil art too. Although, I suppose you can erase your boo-boos, not like with pen.
Lou: My bad! I thought that was a special .44 ballpoint.
    Lauren: Very much so!

  3. In the hands of a talented person, it matters not the means of expression, rather what is expressed.

I have a daughter, of whose talent I am frequently in awe. I say that as one of her toughest, early critics, not a proud father, although I am that.

I’ve seen this young man’s work elsewhere. Great choice for a post. As opposed to some of your “earlier works.”
