Who Is This Treasonous Scoundrel?

Which American uttered these words:

“I am… on the way to become an Australian citizen, that’s a little known fact,” he told station 4BC after queuing up to buy the new generation iPhone 5.

“It turns out that I get to keep my American citizenship,” he added.

“I intend, you know who knows what will follow through in the next five years, I intend to call myself an Australian and feel an Australian, and study the history and become, you know, as much of a real citizen here as I can.”

Aw, fine. We forgive ‘em. Half the Sailors I know who’ve visited the Land of Oz would say the same thing.

  1. My only question is what could have possibly prompted him to say this?? I’m having a bit of trouble understanding that…is America that bad, he thinks leaving is the answer?? Isn’t it strange, this man has enough money to move anywhere in the world he wants to along with the appropriate security which for the most part you would need outside the USA….and he wants to move from America..well, most of us haven’t that alternative or the wealth to just go….and this guy does…another clown….and no one is ever happy, are they??…k

  2. I remember reading somewhere, so time ago, becoming an Aussie is not easy. They’re particular about who they grant citizenship to.

Maybe The Woz is looking to move his gazillion bucks to a place that, last I heard, paid more than 4.5% a few years ago. The Catch: Only available to Aussies.

My curiosity got the better of me. I just checked. They’re only paying just under 3.5% now. Still pretty good.

  3. not sure if this is to political but I have had the same thought in the past few years.
But Not sure where I could go. No not a felon, or anything like that. But it just America is the last great hope. If we would go the way of socialist, then not sure where to get out of it.
I give a huge hats off to our military. For among the great work they do for the silly civilians like me. They can still salute and say “yes sir” no matter who is in command. Not sure I could do it.

  4. Mark: It all comes down to training. The military reports to a civilian. Some countries the military is the mighty ruling fist. Not so in the US.
Pax: Ha ha! Now that is hilarious. . .

  5. Yea, I understand that. My thought is how could I defend a person or administration I despise and do not believe in. I guess at that point it is less about the person there then the people in the country?
