Navy frigates are going away. I don’t have the exact decom schedule, but the word I hear is that they are slowly being phased out. And to that end, the USS Carr (FFG 52) conducted its last replenishment at sea today. 56,979 gallons of fuel. . .

And there we go! Thanks CP. . .
We are screwed. What’s the point of getting rid of frigates while “inventing” the LCS?
Are we THAT certain that we won’t need picket ships?
I wasn’t going to say anything here originally, but it seems to me there have been a great many ships this administration is ‘deep-sixing’ and mothballing so to speak…and one can only speculate why…first he gets rid of the personnel and then he eliminates the ships? I’m not customarily a conspiracy type, but this smacks of decreasing and eliminating our defense readiness…doesn’t this sound like there’s some sort of evidence to back it up??….just sayin’……a bit too obvious if you ask me….k
CargoSquid: I’ve always loved frigates. Great ships.
Kris: We are losing capability by axing these.
