Cheerleaders and Dancers in the Olympics?

Sorry if I’ve not been paying attention, but since when do we have cheerleaders or dancers in the Olympics? Three British Soldiers and three Olympic dancers?

(More dancers and cheerleaders at the link. I have a low tolerability factor for male cheerleaders and dancers. Don’t they have something better to do, like soldier?)

  1. I was hoping what looked like cheerleaders on the sidelines were just some crazy Brit fans. Although, I’d play cheerleader to see the Olympics that close. Wouldn’t you?

  2. Well I am sure that they were there to see the women’s V-ball. I think I would cheer and perform to see some of the games as well. However it would be one of the things you never point out and tell anybody.

  3. I don’t know about cushy duty but wouldn’t female military members have been appreciative of such ‘good looking’ dancers…just a thought…k

  4. I don’t have a problem with male cheerleaders at the college football games. They can really toss those girl high in the air and catch them easily. But I can’t believe they would cheapen the Olympics with ‘entertainment’ like that. Then again, I thing they have pussied down the O anyway. The original Olympics was among men displaying their hunting and warrior talents…in the nude. Since when does a bunch of women twirling poles with long ribbons attached so hunting or warrior capabilities? And why are the in clothes?

    • Funny you mention the original Olympics. While I complained about the men gymnasts wearing those stupid tank tops (because they really should be shirtless) my husband asked me if I wanted them nude like it was originally. I’m all for eye candy but I do need some mystery. I’m good with shirtless ;-)
