Joining the Navy as a 29 Year-Old

Today’s novel navel noodling comes from a 29 year-old female, pondering the big jump into the Navy:

Q: Signing up for the US Navy is a good idea or a bad idea? I’m now 29 years olds, deciding what is best for me to join in the us navy. I should have thought about it right after high school. I will appreciate for any responds.

A: I am still a kid but at my school people say the navy is for wimps because nobody is ever killed. You are older so that would probably sound pretty good haha. Then you don’t have to have people worry about you being deployed and stuff.

Yeah, when I was thinking ’bout joining up, I asked a local ten year-old skater what he thought of the Navy. He was fine with it, so I signed on. Skate or die, dude. . .

Might as well add this nugget into the mix:

What is this Military rank?

My brother wanted to be in the Marines, and be one of the soldiers who goes out to the other countries and fights in the war. I know there’s a rank for it, but I can’t remember what it’s called. Any of y’all know? Thank you!

I don’t know if his brother could ever achieve that rank. Fighting in wars, as a Marine?

  1. I’m pretty sure I had that “rank” when I was in the Corps. I never had to exercise it, but I’m pretty sure I had it.
If that is a pre-teen kid answering I’ll cut him some slack, but ask the question, “why do his parents allow him to use the interwebs unsupervised?”
