In the Navy, we rotate through one shore tour and then a sea tour. And back to shore. So imagine my surprise when I saw this headline:

Carnival cancels on-shore tour after mass robbery

On-shore tour? Carnival? What the heck is happening? Oh, cruise ship schtuff:

Carnival Cruise Lines Inc. says it is suspending on-shore nature excursions in the Mexican resort of Puerto Vallarta after 22 cruise passengers were robbed on their bus during a tour last week near the coastal city.

The city’s public safety secretary says hooded attackers intercepted the bus in the town of El Nogalito. It says no one was injured in the Thursday night incident but the tourists’ possessions were taken.

Carnival, sort of like the Navy, but with better food? Someone, tell me please, what the heck is happening with the cruise business? It has been a rough two months. . .
