Hand Salute: America’s First Sergeant

  1. That brought up a memory I hadn’t thought about for decades. When I finished training in the AF, most of my friends got their 1505s (Khaki) and fatigues tailored off base. Then when they got to their first post training unit, they found out such things were frowned upon. Buying all new uniforms can get $$. I never bothered myself. My wife did most of my laundry when I was home and she didn’t have the skill nor inclination to do any tailoring.

  2. Crucis: I get my stuff tailored, mostly because I am tall. And I swim in the uniform, until it is fit properly. Good story. . .
CP: There will be no mentioning of the VP in this blog.
