Cal Foosball got trounced by the University of Texas in our bowl game, but us Bear fans are a resilient bunch. After all, we have been taught by only the very best trainers.
Imagine how spoiled and entitled we would be if we rattled off ten-win seasons year in and year out? Thank you, Cal, for the great life lesson. And thank goodness that the pigskin’s been put away, to be replaced by the rock:
Who knows, I’ll take the W:
Allen Crabbe scored 20 points, including four 3-pointers, and California beat UCLA 85-69 on Saturday to pull off its first home sweep of the Los Angeles schools in eight years and stay undefeated at home.
Jorge Gutierrez had 16 points and eight assists, freshman David Kravish scored a career-best 13 points and Justin Cobbs added 13 points and a career-high eight assists as Cal shot a season-high 65 percent from the field. Crabbe, who added six assists and five rebounds, had five points during a decisive run to start the second half as the Golden Bears (12-3, 2-0 Pac-12) pulled away.
As for Little “a wham bam a loom bam a wham bam boom” Richard, apparently I was not the only one thinking Fifties crooner. Some Big Blue Michigan fans guessed Otis “Shama lama Ding Dong” Day:
Yeah, that works. Otis Day was the character’s name. Otis Day and the Knights was the band. The actor DeWayne Jessie played the part and singer Lloyd Williams sang the gold. Ooooh mau mau!
PS We live in funny times, so maybe I should disclaim with this disclaimer: this post is in good fun and Mr. Lamb’s race has nothing to do with anything. If given the chance, I would joke with Tyler personally, as I am sure half the team does. I hope this disclaiming was unnecessary, but you never know.
